It seems like everyone and their mother is on Twitter these days. Twitter has become a new way for people to communicate and share ideas. It’s dramatically different from email, phone or texting. If you don’t already “get” Twitter, it’s about sharing and discovering interesting stories as they happen. With access to Twitter on-the-go, you can participate (or just listen in on) real life conversations that are happening all around the world and close to home.
Twitter is already up, running and dominating. Internet folks are loving it because of its simplicity and ease. It mixes short messaging service, blogging and bookmarks sharing. Twitter has tasted a great success since it’s launch. There have been designed so many widgets, addons, applications and other stuff for twitter and now there is something new. There’s a new tool out recently which will let people Tweet on the go.
Folks at Peek, the makers of Peek Pranto an award-winning mobile email program, are now offering a Twitter only gadget named TwitterPeek. TwitterPeek was uncovered byJosh Topolsky on the late night show of Jimmy Fallon. TwitterPeek is being sold for $199.95 with lifetime service and you can also get it for $99.95 with 6 month of service ($7.95/month afterwards) both on their site and on Amazon as well. You’ll start receiving tweets in minutes!. TwitterPeek works on a high-speed wireless data network with nationwide coverage which means no wi-fi needed. So TwitterPeek is always on and always receiving your Twitter feed. No need to switch over to an application and wait for only your 100 most recent tweets to download. You have your entire feed in the palm of your hand.
Reviews are pouring in about this latest gadget. Since it is the first Twitter gadget/device, therefore, everyone is curious to know about it. I haven’t used it, but am having a close look at it’s reviews and users’ experiences.
On official website of Peek, they have highlighted some of the following features about TwitterPeek:
- Unlimited tweeting anywhere, anytime
- No contracts, no credit checks, no activation fees ever!
- Large, full-color screen and full keyboard
- Long battery life of 4-5 days. Fully recharges in under 2 hours
- World’s first Twitter mobile device
- Nationwide coverage. No wifi signal necessary
- “Always on” instant tweet delivery
- Full QWERTY keyboard, large color screen, click scroll wheel
- 30-day money back guarantee
- 1-year manufacturers warranty
- Includes 6 months of service, $7.95/month thereafter
The company says:
“TwitterPeek will make it easy and affordable for everyone who really want to enjoy Twitter on the go,” said “Peekster-in-Chief” Amol Sarva, in a statement. “”Twitter die-hards will appreciate its ‘always-on’ instant tweet delivery and newbies will finally ‘get Twitter’ once they have TwitterPeek in hand. Even businesses that Twitter will dig TwitterPeek as a convenient way to stay connected with their customers.”
However, the question still remains that whether the users will spend money for a gadget which does not have multiple functions like cell phones, cameras, notebooks etc?
I had a chat on mIRC with a guy who just bought TwitterPeek after reading its TwitterPeek Review and he looks quite satisfied with it. He also pointed out it’s lack of functions, checking posted links and some other basic twitter features, but overall he says it’s good.
